The Jaffrey Civic Center has received a $5,000 donation from MilliporeSigma toward its GiveUsALift campaign, which will fund the costs related to the purchase and installation of a lift to the second floor of the Civic Center. The donation brings the total amount of existing funds to the $80,000 goal needed to begin the project. The project initially began as raising funds to install an elevator several years ago and early donations were placed in an investment fund. The costs estimated for purchase and installation of an elevator were approximately $250,000 compared with the $80,000 needed for a lift. The installation will begin in December of this year.

It has 20,000 employees and 60 manufacturing sites worldwide and a portfolio of more than 300,000 products enabling scientific discovery. MilliporeSigma employs approximate 850 employees at its manufacturing facility in Jaffrey. The business covers the full bioprocessing value chain, offering products ranging from lab water purification systems to genome-editing tools, antibodies, cell lines and end-to-end systems to manufacture drugs.
The funds raised for the project include private donations from many local residents, and state and local organizations including grants and donations from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the Putnam Foundation, Terra Nova Trust, the Royal Bank of Canada, Belletetes, the Jaffrey Gilmore Trust, Wright Painting, Sorby and Son, Bellows Nichols Insurance, the Rotary Club of Jaffrey and donations from the Jaffrey Civic Center Board of Trustees.
