Project Shakespeare Announces Speak the Speech! 

Project Shakespeare celebrates 32 years of “transforming students’ lives through theatre education.”  On Friday, July 17^th at 5pm and on Saturday, July 18^th  at 1pm Project Shakespeare presents Speak the Speech – Short Shakespeare plays, monologues and scenes.  Performances are at the Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main Street, Jaffrey. Admission is free; donations are gladly accepted at the door.

Speak the Speech offers students a deep dive into Shakespeare’s text learning how to use Shakespeare’s language to illuminate the human condition that is the focus of Shakespeare’s stories.  This year’s production includes two short-Shakespeare plays – Romeo & Juliet and As You Like It, as well as scenes from King John and Much Ado About Nothing.  Associate Directors Benjamin Michaud and Lif Petrova will direct; Tess Geana will stage manager. Lif will also choreograph.

Students ages 4 to 16 include: Claire Blessing, James Blessing, Alexander Brand, Tess Geana, Clover Heinzmann, Lillianna Helsel, Eleanora Kishinevsky, Xavier Liceaga, Henry McDonald, Elise Nicklin, Astrid Niehaus, Amalia Oreamuno, Emmy Ratcliffe, Jem Russell, Harrison Seeger, Amelia St. John, Aubrey St. John, and Kate St. John.
